The Fertilizers & Chemicals Travancore became the Public Sector Enterprise of the State of Kerala in 1960 and the Indian Government grabbed the largest chunk of the total shares in 1962.The Company started its operation with this division. In the beginning the plant yearly output was 50 thousand tons of Ammonium Sulphate. The unit went through an extension operation pertaining to the modern technological advancement. About SAMEER : SAMEER was set up as an autonomous R & D laboratory at Mumbai under the then Department of Electronics, Government of India with a broad mandate to undertake R & D work in the areas of Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology. It is an offshoot of the special microwave products unit (SMPU) set up in 1977 at the TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Mumbai. SAMEER, Mumbai was setup in 1984.
